Gary Clark, massage therapist
Gary has been continuously involved with natural therapies and related modalities, for over 30 years.
In the 1970s Gary was a foundation member, first treasurer and then president, of the Forum club, a group dedicated to
personal development. During this period Gary trained in Relaxation massage, attended personal growth groups, studied group work with the Wasley Centre, and ran an Assertiveness training group.
In the 1980s he started an Autogenic Relaxation Centre, to help people reduce stress and correct bad habits, and developed Autogenic Relaxation Training Programs on videotape to make it accessible to more people.
When Gary's wife, Leigh was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Gary trained in Myofascial Therapy, as a way of eliminating her pain. So successful was this that he realized that it was his calling. He started practice as a professional massage therapist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain, while continuing to study massage in greater depth, gaining diplomas in Remedial and Sports massage along with qualifications in nutrition, Swedish massage,
myofascial release, and more recently cranio-sacral balancing.
In 2001 Gary joined the Challenger TAFE college Natural Therapies lecturing team, in order to pass on his knowledge to others.
Gary became WA Branch
President for the Association of Remedial Masseurs (ARM) in 2005.
Gary currently runs Pain Busters Clinic in East Victoria Park
(Western Australia). In recent years, he has become interested in
energy healing techniques, has trained in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
and integrated it into his massage practice.
